Remove Old Yahoo Email Addresses Now
I received today a heads up from AWeber that as of July 15th, Yahoo! will be deactivating email addresses from accounts that haven’t logged in for the past 12 months or more. What that means is that any Yahoo! email address belonging to an account which hasn’t been accessed for over a year will be released to be claimed by anyone else who wants it. Old Yahoo email addresses will become a potential problem for those of us who maintain mailing lists as explained in the AWeber article (link below):

I won’t repeat the article here, but suffice to say that those of you with email mailing lists need to take action as soon as possible to avoid potential issues affecting your email deliverability. The article lays out a step-by-step plan for clearing out the unresponsive Yahoo! addresses. Of course, the steps are specific to AWeber’s system, but the general principles should apply to most autoresponders.
No doubt you, like me, don’t really need another “project” on your plate, but this one is important enough to take priority. You only have until July 15th, so the sooner it’s addressed, the better.
